HMP Pentonville - London Shakespeare workout prison project

I volunteered at HMP Pentonville with the London Shakespeare workout prison project. The prison did not allow cameras so I was there to draw and document a group of actors and prisoners that were given the opportunity to express themselves through a Shakespearean workout session.

The prison was on lock down for two days prior, where the inmates were only given one hour out of the twenty four to be free from their cells. The project gave them joy and freedom not only from being confined to a small space, but to also express themselves emotionally and show they are more than people convicted of a crime. They are human. It was a great opportunity to observe and be part of and I  hope to involved again in the future.
